OVERVIEW
Situated on the southern Coast of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai makes one of the seven most fascinating emirates of the already magnificent United Arab Estates and accounts for the largest population in UAE. The city exhibits a hot desert climate, particularly true for summers which are extremely hot, windy, and humid, with an average high around 41 °C while by the night the mercury falls down to around 30 °C .Over the years, Dubai has emerged as one of the global cities in the world, known not only for its prowess in business but also as the cultural hub of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East region. In fact, the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, resides in Dubai along with the marvelous skyscrapers all over the city.
Every year, it attracts thousands of tourists owing to the mouth-opening man-made islands and amazingly biggest shopping malls, which no doubt, serves as a treat to the tourists. It is thus, often called as the "shopping capital of the Middle East". This includes the world's largest shopping centre, Dubai Mall.
The sky-touching buildings, hotels and malls leave the city with its tallest skyline in the world. It is rich with numerous gorges and waterholes which mark the base of the Western Al Hajar Mountains. While a vast sea of sand dunes play significant role in covering much of southern Dubai, leading into the desert known as The Empty Quarter. Lately, archaeologists have been able to uncover few astonishing historical sites which are rich in archaeology and now have become tourist’s attraction in recent years, such as Al Sufoh and Jumeirah. A glimpse of a bygone era can be easily caught in the marvelous beauty of the Al Fahidi Fort, Sheikh Saeed’s House, and the Bastakiya. Besides the ‘Emirates Towers’, the city flaunts its beauty with the world-famous ‘Palm Islands’ which ,in fact, are two artificial islands designed in the shape of the palm trees.
Dubai exhibits an active nightlife unlike many other countries owing to astonishing hotel bars. In fact many of them feature pianists, guitarists, duos and bands nightly. The Burj Al Arab is a 7 star luxury hotel known for its design that exhibits a steel exoske leton wrapped around a reinforced concrete tower. Other than the serene beaches and sands, the city flaunts the ‘Dubai Miracle Garden’ which is currently the world's largest flower garden. The tourists don’t need to worry about their transportation since the city offers all modes of transport including the Monorails as well. The food lovers are provided with a vast variety of cuisines such as South Asian and Chinese. Although, Arabic food makes one of the most popular and easily available eatery in the city. Those who love dressing in the western style need not panic themselves by the false rumors that Islamic dress code is a compulsion.
The food, beaches, climate, sand dunes and most importantly the Bedouin folk music, which can be easily spotted as a part of every celebration in the city, leaves no option for the tourists, but to explore the true essence of beauty and nature offered by the blessed city.
